Deportation defense team requests prayer for Church of the Brethren members

Members of two congregations in the Church of the Brethren’s Southern Ohio and Kentucky District and one congregation in Pacific Southwest District were deported in the last two weeks, to Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Please pray for their families left behind in the United States and the church communities that continue to support them.

The cowbell service: ‘I pray each sermon will be a blessing to all’

Just in case you didn’t know, it’s possible to have too much cowbell–as anyone who loves the legendary Saturday Night Live cowbell sketch starring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken can tell you. (Google it). But that won’t be the case Thursday night at Annual Conference.

Global Mission requests prayer for international guests coming to Annual Conference

Prayer for the international guests who will be attending Annual Conference this year is requested by Global Mission executive director Sharon Brugger Norton. She requests general prayers for their safety and safe travels, with no problems at the border, “and a reminder to greet them warmly and thank them for coming.”

NYC 2026 Advisor Preview offers opportunity to experience YMCA of the Rockies

The next Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference (NYC) will take place July 18-23, 2026, at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colo. Because it will be a new location for many of the advisors who will bring youth, it seemed helpful to offer a chance to experience the location prior to bringing youth.

Global Church of the Brethren Communion calls new leadership

The Global Church of the Brethren Communion met on June 6 via Zoom with delegates from member denominations attending. Among top agenda items the group elected two new officers of the board of the communion: Santos Terrero of Spain as president, and Sharon Brugger Norton of the United States as treasurer.
