Jesus in the Neighborhood – Tools for Community Engagement

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12.30-31 (NRSV)

A congregation’s involvement in the community is its expression of the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed, building life-long relationships. A church extends its reach across the cultural, community, and geographic boundaries through transforming relationships.

Jesus calls us to move with him into the neighborhood (John 1.14) as instruments of God’s reconciling love (2 Cor. 5.17-20).

This site offers tools and resources to assist congregations in developing connections and transformative relationships with people in their neighborhoods and communities.
