One of the reasons Mark Charles believes that the United States needs a Truth and Conciliation Commission instead of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission conducted by South Africa, is that we cannot be reconciled if we have never experienced conciliation in the first place.

On July 22, Rummel Church of the Brethren had our fourth (fifth?) annual clothing giveaway. During the preceding week, we accepted donations of clothing and shoes from our small community. We experienced an amazing outpouring of generosity.
Bruce Holderreed has retired as district executive minister for the Church of the Brethren’s Idaho and Western Montana District, as of June 30. He served in the district leadership position for more than 10 years, since July 30, 2013.
The EYN Women Development Centre in Kwarhi, Nigeria, has graduated 48 students trained in skills acquisition, meant to develop the capacity of the underprivileged women. On Aug. 18, the celebrants, parents/guardians, and well-wishers converged at the Headquarters of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria.
Jan Fahs of North Manchester, Ind., has been elected to serve as chair of the Eder Financial board for the 2023-2024 year, which runs from August through next July. Elected as vice chair was Wayne Scott, who has served in that role for two years.
