Strength for the Journey: 2024 applications are now accepted

By Janet Ober Lambert

New “Strength for the Journey” pastor cohorts are forming now, with plans to begin meeting in January 2024. Applications are available at https://bethanyseminary.edu/brethren-academy/strength-for-the-journey and will be accepted through Oct. 31.

Among the cohorts that are forming for 2024, one will focus on pastors new to the ministry. If you are in your first five years of serving as a pastor, consider applying to meet and learn with others who share this particular journey. Persons may apply for this and other cohorts as individuals or as a group.

Strength for the Journey is a continuing education opportunity provided by the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership, offering resources for up to five ministry cohorts each year. During that year, cohorts of 5 to 8 ministers meet via Zoom for 10 to 12 sessions of 90 minutes each. Each group is assisted by a skilled convener, a designated Zoom account, and a budget for resources. Additional funds are available to help groups gather in person at the end of their year, if they so choose. All of this is available to participants at no personal cost.

Every cohort will incorporate time for worship and prayer, as well as continuing education. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded for the latter. Participants may earn up to 1.2 CEUs for full participation.
