Chelsea Skillen has resigned as director of Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) effective Feb. 10. She has served in leadership of BVS for more than three years, since Oct. 24, 2022. She plans to move to Portugal and will be joining her husband’s publishing business.
Jenn Dorsch-Messler resigns from Brethren Disaster Ministries
Jenn Dorsch-Messler has announced her resignation as director of Brethren Disaster Ministries, having served for more than 10 years beginning on Feb. 24, 2015. Her resignation is effective Jan. 9, 2026. She has accepted a position on a new executive leadership team at Mennonite Disaster Service located in Lititz, Pa.

Victoria (Vicki) Ehret resigns from role with Atlantic Southeast District
Victoria (Vicki) Ehret has resigned as director of administration for the District Executive Minister Team of the Church of the Brethren’s Atlantic Southeast District. She began in the position as interim district executive minister on Jan. 25, 2021, for a period of six months, after which she transitioned to her present role. She will conclude her role by June 30, or sooner, upon the hiring by the district board of an interim to fill the position.
José Calleja Otero resigns from leadership of Puerto Rico District
José Calleja Otero has resigned as executive minister for the Church of the Brethren’s Puerto Rico District, effective Dec. 6. He has served in leadership of the district for eight and a half years, since he began as the district’s first executive on July 12, 2015.
