Webinar on watershed stewardship to engage intersection of faith and the environment

The Church of the Brethren’s Office of Peacebuilding and Policy along with the Brethren Creation Care Network will be hosting a webinar about watershed stewardship on March 30 at 7 p.m. (Eastern time). We will be featuring special guest David Warners from Calvin University and also inviting interactive participation by Church of the Brethren attendees.

The new special edition of A Guide for Biblical Studies in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Committee on the Uniform Series is just one of the Spring specials from Brethren Press. The Church of the Brethren publishing house is offering special discount prices on children’s Bible storybooks, through March, and free downloadable children’s resources to accompany the illustrated storybook Maria’s Kit of Comfort. Also now available is the most recent Covenant Bible Study titled The Circle of Paul.

Upcoming Ventures courses explore a church’s journey ‘From Tragedy to Community’ and faith in media culture

Ventures in Christian Discipleship at McPherson (Kan.) College is offering courses in March and May. The March offering will be “From Tragedy to Community” online March 31, starting at 9 p.m. (Eastern time), presented by Andrew Sampson, pastor at Modesto (Calif.) Church of the Brethren. The May offering will be “Spirituality on the Screen” online May 2, at 7 p.m. (Eastern time), presented by Walt Wiltschek, district executive minister for the Church of the Brethren’s Illinois and Wisconsin District and a member of the editorial team for Messenger magazine.

Annual Conference 2022 will include virtual, online option for nondelegates

The Annual Conference office has announced a virtual, online option for nondelegates who are not planning to travel to Omaha, Neb., for this summer’s Conference but would like to participate in more than just worship (which will continue to be livestreamed for all, free of charge).

Recipients of the Church of the Brethren Nursing Scholarship share their passion for nursing

The Church of the Brethren provides scholarships of up to $2,000 for RN and graduate nurse candidates and up to $1,000 for LPN candidates. These scholarships are awarded to a limited number of applicants each year, made possible by the Health, Education, and Research Endowment. Nurturing Ministry Skills series offered through Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center

The Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center (SVMC) is launching an additional educational series entitled Nurturing Ministry Skills. Available to both clergy and laity, this online (Zoom) series launches on Monday, March 7, from 7-8:30 p.m. (Eastern time) with “Coping with Two Years of a Pandemic: Care for Self and Others” led by Jim Higginbotham, professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Earlham School of Religion.

Two-part Ventures course to focus on ‘Peace, Violence, and Nonviolence’

The next offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program based at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “Peace, Violence, and Nonviolence.” The course will be held online over two evening sessions on Thursday, Feb. 24, and Thursday, March 3, both at 7 p.m. (Eastern time). The course will be presented by Katy Gray Brown and Virginia Rendler.
