March Ventures course to focus on creation care through faith

The March offering from Ventures in Christian Discipleship, a program based at McPherson (Kan.) College, will be “God’s Earth, Our Home: Engaging Creation Care through Faith.” The course will be presented by David Radcliff, director of the New Community Project. February Ventures course to focus on pastoral and congregational well-being

The February offering from Ventures in Christian Discipleship will be “The Ecology of Vitality: Mutuality in Pastoral and Congregational Well-Being.” Presented by John Fillmore, pastor of Nampa (Idaho) Church of the Brethren and district executive minister of the Church of the Brethren’s Idaho/Western Montana District, the course will be held online on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (central time).

January Ventures course to focus on compassionate listening

The January offering from Ventures in Christian Discipleship will be “Building Bridges Between Brethren through Compassionate Listening: Let Thy Kingdom Come!” to be presented by Barbara Daté, Harriet Koscho, and Joe Vecchio.

Ventures program announces courses for October and November

The Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College has announces its next courses for this fall. In October, “Immigrant Solidarity in Jesus’ Name” will be presented by leaders in the Church of the Brethren’s Deportation Defense Response team. In November, “Making Sense of God’s Violent Behavior in the Old Testament” will be presented by Eric Seibert, pastor at Mechanicsburg (Pa.) Church of the Brethren.

April Ventures course to focus on communities of belonging

The April offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “A Place for Everybody: Creating Communities of Belonging” to be presented by Jeanne Davies, executive director of the Anabaptist Disabilities Network.

March Ventures course to be presented by Annual Conference moderator Dava Hensley

The March offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “Acknowledging Grief, Claiming Hope: Reflections from Around the Church of the Brethren” to be presented by Dava Hensley, Church of the Brethren ordained minister and 2025 Annual Conference moderator.

February Ventures course to focus on Luke and Acts

The February offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “Luke and Acts: Turning the World Upside Down” presented by Chris Bucher and Bob Neff. The course will be held online in two Tuesday sessions on Feb. 11 and 18 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. (central time).

November Ventures course to focus on understanding grief

The November offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “Understanding Your Grief to Find Hope and Healing” to be presented by Chris Whitacre and Kathy Reid. October Ventures course to focus on the Psalms

The October offering from the Ventures in Christian Discipleship program at McPherson (Kan.) College will be “Happiness in Hard Times: A View from the Psalms” to be presented by Stephen Reid, vice provost for Faculty Diversity and Belonging at Baylor University in Texas.
