Annville inspires with Community Pledge

On election day, Annville (Pa.) Church of the Brethren—which served as a polling site—also offered voters a separate “poll” inviting them to pledge actions that strengthen the community. In a world of political division, it recognized the importance of uniting around shared values and everyday service that uplifts everyone in the neighborhood.

Chicago First Church of the Brethren joins Apartheid Free Communities network

Chicago (Ill.) First Church of the Brethren prayerfully took the pledge to join the Apartheid Free Communities network. Chicago First Church is the 400th organization to join under the sponsorship of American Friends Service Committee and the first Church of the Brethren congregation to join.

The story of the food bank at Fairview

A little over two years ago, I brought a food bank project to the church board at Fairview Church of the Brethren in Unionville, Iowa. I had no idea how long God would help fulfill the need here. I also felt that when the money was out and I had no funding, that would be God saying that we have served our purpose.

Goshen City Church to celebrate 125 years

This year, 2024, Goshen (Ind.) City Church of the Brethren is celebrating its 125th anniversary. This milestone is being celebrated by updating the church history, honoring families of charter members, and inviting previous clergy to preach at special services.

Freeport Church holds an event for the children

On Saturday, May 18, our church hosted the event “Bring Jesus to the Neighborhood,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.–but we let it go on till 2 p.m. because the kids were enjoying themselves so much!

Lafayette Church celebrates Juneteenth

On Saturday, June 15, several members of Lafayette (Ind.) Church of the Brethren enjoyed a Juneteenth celebration held in Lafayette’s largest city park, with some friends from Lafayette’s Bethel AME Church.
