Camp Colorado announces 75th anniversary events

Camp Colorado turns 75! Seventy-five impactful summers of campfires, late-night conversations and worship, and young people going home different than they arrived. Seventy-five years of volunteers giving their weekends, skills, and hearts so that something special can happen in the mountains.

Fraternity Church of the Brethren celebrates 250 years

“Fraternity Church of the Brethren is 250 years old!” said an announcement of the congregation’s upcoming Homecoming and anniversary celebration on Sept. 13-14. “Take a moment to think about that. In 1775 when the American Revolutionary War was being fought, when this country was being founded, it was documented that a group of ‘Dunkard’ Brethren held a baptism near Muddy Creek.”

Marking 80 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Aug. 6 and 9 mark 80 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombings resulted in a combined death toll of approximately 200,000 to 250,000 people by the end of 1945. In Hiroshima, it is estimated that 70,000 to 140,000 people died, while in Nagasaki, the estimated death toll was 39,000 to 74,000.

Goshen City Church to celebrate 125 years

This year, 2024, Goshen (Ind.) City Church of the Brethren is celebrating its 125th anniversary. This milestone is being celebrated by updating the church history, honoring families of charter members, and inviting previous clergy to preach at special services.
