Survey gathers information for work of Annual Conference committee

The Breaking Down Barriers Study Committee was asked by the delegates of the 2022 Annual Conference of the Church of the Brethren to explore how we gather and how we might create greater equity in access, so that we can include as many people as possible in Annual Conference and other church gatherings.

Brethren Disaster Ministries monitors needs as California experiences extreme weather

Brethren Disaster Ministries staff are monitoring the re-occurring storms and flooding in California and their damage, and sending prayers for those who are affected. The staff have reached out to leadership of Pacific Southwest District and received word that they have not heard from any Church of the Brethren congregations experiencing issues, either for their church buildings or their members.

Heidi Gross to begin as managing editor for Brethren Press

Heidi Gross has been named managing editor of Brethren Press, the publishing house of the Church of the Brethren. She will begin Feb. 6 in a part-time contract role and transition to full-time employment on June 19.

Laura Stone to lead South Central Indiana District

The Church of the Brethren’s South Central Indiana District has called Laura Stone as district executive minister beginning on Feb. 1. She is currently the chaplain at Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester, Ind., a position she has held since May 2018, and also is a spiritual director.
