On Aug. 19, attendees of the Open Circle and Common Spirit congregations in the Church of the Brethren’s Northern Plains District came together to begin their joint Jesus in the Neighborhood project: an edible garden of berries, herbs, and fruit trees for the neighborhood surrounding Open Circle Church in Burnsville, Minn.
Because the two congregations applied together for a district Jesus in the Neighborhood grant, they received a total of $1,000 for the project.
