The Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership is offering a Directed Independent Study Unit (DISU) in conjunction with the Ministers’ Association pre-Annual Conference event titled “Healing Racial Trauma: The Road to Resilience” with Sheila Wise Rowe.
Annual Conference moderator Tim McElwee is sponsoring a series of four online “Shalom Conversations” in webinar format. Each will feature a set of panelists who will engage in conversation based on their own personal backgrounds and experiences of the church.
On July 3-4, all ministers of the Church of the Brethren denomination will have an opportunity to reconnect with one another at the annual pre-Annual Conference continuing education event. Some ministers haven’t seen each other in person since before COVID.
As the celebration of the diamond jubilee of Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) continues, stories continue to pour in from people telling about the impact BVS had on their life. New stories are still being written, too, with 27 BVSers in the field currently, and more signing up for orientation this summer and fall.

At a March 3 online meeting, Standing Committee decided on a path forward responding to a recommendation from the 2022 Annual Conference. They voted to read the recommendation of the 2022 Standing Committee and provide for a time of silent personal reflection and confession. Four other subcommittees presented progress reports on their tasks.
