Ministers’ Association-related course addresses ‘Listening for the Sound of the Genuine’

The Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership is offering “Listening for the Sound of the Genuine” on July 2-3, led by Audrey Hollenberg-Duffey as facilitator, as a directed independent study unit (DISU).

The course is in conjunction with the Church of the Brethren Ministers’ Association pre-Annual Conference event in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Frank A. Thomas is the guest speaker for the Ministers’ Association this year. He will lead a preaching workshop for the group. Thomas is professor of homiletics at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Ind., with a passion “to teach preachers to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to shape and influence preachers to rise to the height, depth, and beauty of the best of their preaching potential.”

Fill out the registration form at www.brethren.org/ministryoffice to attend the Ministers’ Association event.

Register for the academy DISU at https://bethanyseminary.edu/brethren-academy/brethren-academy-course-listings/brethren-academy-course-registration-annual-trim-payment. The registration deadline is May 28.

Accredited ministers seeking continuing education credit will receive 2.0 units. Interested individuals may also take this course for personal enrichment.

Students in the academy’s TRIM and EFSM programs will receive one credit in Ministry Skills upon completion, and the course qualifies for the Annual Conference experience requirement.
