Brenda Giles on Dec. 8 concluded her work with the Church of the Brethren’s Material Resources program based at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Md. She had served as packer and kit sorter for Material Resources. This layoff is due to the closing of the Material Resources program at the end of 2025 and the reduced supplies to process as part of the transition of the program partners to new warehouses. Giles began her almost 53 years of employment with the Church of the Brethren on Sept. 7, 1972.
