The Bridgewater (Va.) College Forum for Brethren Studies together with the Bridgewater College Endowed Lecture Series present the symposium “Perspectives in the Twenty-First Century: Challenges for the Church of the Brethren,” on Sept. 12-13.
Keynote address: David Hollinger, “Christian Nationalism and the Transformation of American Protestantism.” Thursday, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m., Cole Hall, Bridgewater College. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Symposium: “Perspectives in the Twenty-First Century: Challenges for the Church of the Brethren.” Friday, Sept. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Boitnott Room, Bridgewater College. Symposium presenters include David Hollinger, Margaret Elwell, Sheila Elwardani, Denise Kettering-Lane, and Carl Bowman.
The symposium closes with a panel discussion: “Exit Interviews: Discussions with Individuals who have left the Church of the Brethren,” chaired by Frank Ramirez and including remarks by Eric Brubaker, Jim Hardenbrook, Sam Funkhouser, and Scott Suter.
