Job Title: Volunteer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Camp Swatara offers volunteer positions with broad possibilities. The volunteer may serve where needed throughout the year as an assistant in the areas of housekeeping, food service, administration/office, maintenance, hosting, program, or the campground. Volunteers should be open to fulfilling duties in each of these areas; however, specific tasks will be assigned taking the volunteer’s interests and skills into account. All staff are expected to be comfortable communicating with guests of the camp and serving as a team player with the camp’s supervisory staff.

During certain times of the year, there are longer term positions in the Program Department—such as counselors, teachers/instructors, or directors. Camp Swatara also looks for aquatics staff—from the Waterfront Manager to Lifeguards—and Campground Staff to help host families and run our Campground Store. Summer into fall provides many opportunities for developing skills and leadership.
