Camp Mardela, owned by the Mid-Atlantic District of the Church of the Brethren, is located on 125 acres of woodland. Camp Mardela’s mission is to “provide children and adults with opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and recreation in a setting that deepens their appreciation for God’s creation.”
At Camp Mardela, volunteers help with camp counseling, cleaning, light office work, hosting retreat groups, and serving as kitchen and maintenance staff. Volunteers live at camp and share housing with rental groups during the fall and winter season.
Volunteers should be self-disciplined, responsible, willing to complete work assignments, and able to work both alone and on a team. Other requirements include the ability to care for personal needs and interest in learning new things.
