Job Descriptions

Project Description:
LLHFH works in partnership with the surrounding community to develop strong neighborhoods where people can live and grow. This is done in two ways: by building affordable homes for first-time homeowners and through selling home building materials, furniture, and appliances at affordable rates via the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. LLHFH believes safe, warm, dry, and sustainable housing is for everyone, and their mission brings together community members from all walks of life to build hope and long-term housing solutions.

Job Title:
(A) ReStore Warehouse Merchandiser
(B) Construction Crew Leader

Duties and Responsibilities:
(A) The ReStore Warehouse Merchandiser assists in receiving and loading merchandise; ensures the safety and “shopability” of the public warehouse area (including cleaning, organizing, and styling inventory on the sales floor); assists and supports customers, donors and other volunteers; and rides along on donations pickups. They should be flexible, personable, and organized. This position also works best for BVSers who take initiative, are independently driven, and enjoy an active work environment.

(B) The Construction Crew Leader assists with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry, and landscaping. Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, and critical home repairs. The position includes leading small groups of volunteers daily and facilitating safe experiences for everyone working on site. They may also work alongside Habitat homebuyers who are completing the first-time homebuyer program. Prior construction experience is not required.

Both positions require volunteers to be able to lift 75 pounds and be on their feet all day.
