The Center on Conscience & War (CCW, formerly NISBCO) is a 77-year-old nonprofit organization whose mission is to defend and extend the rights of conscientious objectors to war.

CCW seeks a Program Assistant to engage in research and writing, website and computer maintenance, participation in workshops and other public events on conscientious objection and war, and general administrative tasks. Specific duties may vary based on an individual’s interests and skills. All staff engage in CCW’s primary ministry of counseling military service members, veterans, military-aged youth, and their families on their options and rights in relation to the US military and the Selective Service System. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to a new volunteer.

We request that you write a brief statement explaining your understanding and perspective on conscientious objection. Other requirements include an ability to work with individuals from diverse faith traditions, computer proficiency, and the ability to walk up stairs to a fourth-floor office.
