Project Description:
L’Arche Syracuse is part of the international L’Arche network, which provides services for adults with and without intellectual disabilities within a supportive community setting. L’Arche Syracuse is deeply committed to integrating its core members into society while providing individualized support by encouraging them to participate in external programs and activities. They focus on shared decision-making and ensure that leadership and responsibilities are well distributed among the community.
Job Title: Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assistants provide direct support and friendship to core members. The mission of L’Arche Syracuse is to reveal the value and giftedness of persons labeled with a disability. L’Arche Syracuse maintains four residences with four core members in each home sharing life in a community. Experience with persons labeled with a developmental disability is not a requirement.
