Camp Stevens is a year-round camp and conference center with an emphasis on environmental stewardship, personal growth, and community development. Located in the mountains northeast of San Diego, volunteers will serve as interns who plan and lead youth and adult programs, host weekend retreat groups, and help maintain day-to-day camp operations. Activities range from hiking, rock climbing, and archery to gardening, nature exploration, and team-building exercises. Camp Stevens promotes values of inclusivity, peace, and sustainability, with facilities designed to blend with the natural surroundings and support eco-friendly practices.
Job Title: Program and Hospitality Generalist Intern
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for the Program and Hospitality Generalist Intern include planning and leading youth and adult programs, hosting weekend retreat groups, assisting in the camp kitchen, and maintaining the campgrounds and day-to-day operations. Interns live in intentional community with other camp staff, including other interns and staff in similar roles.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate enjoys time spent in the outdoors, working with children, spending time working both in teams and independently, and is open to people from all walks of life. Interns travel miles over rough terrain, operate tools/machinery, and may carry loads up to 50 pounds. Ability to qualify to drive camp vehicles is preferred (over 21 with clean driving record).
