Project Description:
Centro Arte para la Paz works to develop and promote a culture of peace through creativity, imagination, cultural exchange, and the arts. CAP offers various workshops, including music, visual arts, dance, and emotional support, as well as vocational training workshops in English and computer skills. The goal of each program and project is to contribute to the development of the individual, so that their transformation, skills, and knowledge become a source of peace at both the personal and collective levels.
The CAP contributes to the prevention of social and gender-based violence in the municipality of Suchitoto, focusing on the whole person and promoting a culture of peace.
Job Title: English Teacher, Psychologist, Music/Arts Teacher
Duties and Responsibilities:
CAP seeks creative volunteers to get involved with existing activities or to create a new activity based on the volunteer’s interests, life experience, or skill set. Some past activities have included drawing and painting, digital photography, music lessons, peace gardens, cooperative games, folk dancing, and alternative programs to violence.
Requirements:
Volunteers should be self-motivated and adaptable and should enjoy working with children and youth. Other requirements include conversational Spanish proficiency and good interpersonal skills.
