Lydia’s House is a home for women and children experiencing homelessness. They provide supportive, safe and stable housing for these families, first via their shelter (which houses up to six families) and then through their affordable apartments. As of Fall 2025, they also run a daycare for current and former kids of the shelter. Lydia’s House is a Catholic Worker house and strives to exemplify many of the tenants of that model of ministry, such as community meals.

Job Title: Maternal and Early Childhood Advocate
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Maternal and Early Childhood Advocate will assist the case manager in stabilizing and empowering families experiencing homelessness. A typical work week might include cleaning she shelter after morning departures, taking an expectant mom to a prenatal appointment, taking a substitute shift at the daycare, cooking dinner for 15, and picking up groceries for the weekend pool party.
Requirements:
Previous leadership in a communal living situation such as a camp or college dorm is helpful. You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift small children in and out of car seats to do this job well.
