More Than 160 Turn out for 5k Fun Run
More than 160 NYCers turned out early on Sunday morning for the 5K fun run around the CSU campus.
NYC Enjoys a Brethren Block Party
“We were all brainstorming with the coordinators,” said Rhonda Pittman Gingrich, a former NYC coordinator herself, “to think of an event that would help people mix together, get to know each other while having a great time, while letting the agencies tell a little of their story.”
Blessed on the Journey to NYC
The bus pulled out of the Elizabethtown (Pa.) Church of the Brethren parking lot at 5 a.m. last Sunday, bound for National Youth Conference. There were 30 youth, 9 advisors, and 1 bus driver aboard, representing the Elizabethtown, Mt. Wilson, and Madison Avenue congregations. Together they took several days to drive across the country, making stops in Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Colorado Springs, before reaching Fort Collins just in time for NYC.

‘Called by Christ: Blessed for the Journey Together’ Theme Shapes NYC 2014
The 2014 National Youth Conference planning has been shaped by the theme from Ephesians 4:1-7, “Called by Christ: Blessed for the Journey Together.” The theme was chosen by the National Youth Cabinet, working with Youth and Young Adult Ministry director Becky Ullom Naugle and the three NYC coordinators Katie Cummings, Tim Heishman, and Sarah Neher.
District Youth Visit and Tour General Offices on Their Way to NYC
Brethren youth from across the country are making their way to National Youth Conference in Colorado this week–by bus, van, car, and airplane. Several busloads from five different districts visited and toured the Church of the Brethren General Offices on their way to NYC.
NYC Theme Song Is Released, Available Online
“There are only 25 days until the opening worship service at NYC 2014, and we have big news!” reports the National Youth Conference office. “The NYC theme song has been released today!” The 2014 theme song was written by Brethren songwriter and musician Seth Hendricks, and was recorded last month by the NYC worship band at Andy Murray’s studio in Huntingdon, Pa.
