On Saturday, Nov. 22, Jesus Lounge Ministry celebrated its first-ever Thanksgiving event at the Fairfield Inn in West Delray Beach, Fla. The worship service was conducted in English, Haitian Creole, Spanish, and French, accompanied by joyful music and interpretive dance, all to the theme of gratitude.
The ministry continues to represent the faithful discipleship of Jesus. The room was bright in colors with gold and burgundy decorations, full of lights, and featuring a band with great sound. There were 40 people in the room, including the ministry’s moderator Renee Davis and members of Miami First, the ministry’s sponsoring church, including pastor Michaela Alphonse, and the Atlantic Southeast District Standing Committee member Rick Davis.
Representatives from other churches in the district were present including Eglise Des Freres Haitiens of West Palm Beach, pastor Eliezer Lucien, and pastor Vildor Archange from the Deportation Defense Response. Members from the Anti-Bias Coalition, Larry O’Kun and Marcy Anshen, were present with United Believers minister Greta Britt, Faith in Florida pastor Rae Whitely, as well as Frank Illiano and Marco Meija from the Delray Beach Police Chaplain Department.
There were four different preachers in all three languages for the night, with pastor Joyce Sutton, deaconess Marie Eugene (pastor Founa I. Augustin Badet’s mother), minister Evens Jules, and pastor Wesley Altidor (pastor Badet’s younger brother). Jenny’s Caribbean Bistro catered the meal for the reception.
The leadership team and worship team of Jesus Lounge Ministry worked tirelessly to make the night one to give glory to God and praise.
We thank God for everything that this ministry is doing for and in the community—changing lives one person at a time in meeting the needs of Christ’s people.
