“Sing Me Home” returns to North Manchester, Ind., in 2024 with a series of free, family-friendly music programing. On Saturday, Sept. 14, “Sing Me Home” will welcome acclaimed Michigan-based singer-songwriter May Erlewine for a special performance at Manchester Church of the Brethren. Erlewine will be performing in-person at “Sing Me Home” for the first time, having also shared a livestream concert performance during the festival’s launch as an online event during Spring 2020.
Goshen (Ind.) based songwriter Sadie Gustafson-Zook and “Sing Me Home” co-hosts Friends with the Weather will also be performing during the Sept. 14 evening event that will run from 5-9 p.m.
“Sing Me Home” is also a supporting sponsor of the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Festival in downtown North Manchester on Sept. 13 featuring Chicago-based group Son Chiquitos. This festival is also free and family-friendly and is presented by the Wabash County Diversity Coalition, Manchester ALIVE, and 2nd Fridays & More.
Manchester Church of the Brethren associate pastor of Youth & Congregational Life, Seth Hendricks, serves as “Sing Me Home” co-coordinator alongside co-coordinator Chris Good. Hendricks shares, “We are really excited to present a series of programing this year, building upon a wonderful festival last September. We’re grateful to be able to bring world-class songwriters and musicians to North Manchester and hope that many from our community will join us to enjoy these free performances!”

Ann Arbor (Mich.) based musician and North Manchester native Chris Good says, “May Erlewine is such a compelling songwriter and performer whose heartfelt and soulful songs offer deep comfort and inspiration for the audience. We’re thrilled to welcome her to North Manchester for a rare Indiana performance and know that those attending on the 14th will immediately see why May has built a dedicated following of fans well beyond her home state of Michigan.”
Tickets are not required to attend the Sept. 14 event but a free RSVP is encouraged to reserve a seat for the featured evening program that will be held indoors.
Sing Me Home is a collaboration between Manchester Church of the Brethren and Good and Hendricks’ band Friends with the Weather. More information is at https://singmehome.org/ or on the Facebook event page.
