Theme and Scripture

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Isaiah 43:2 (NRSVUE)

Big or small, internal or external, we all face challenges and setbacks ─ after all, Isaiah speaks of when we pass through the waters or walk through the fire, not if. God is with us through every trial, yet it is still up to us to move our bodies forward. We must choose to “Break Through” the weight that threatens to crush our spirit. We do this by having hope, finding community, and becoming resilient. As we do, we emerge more equipped to handle what appears next, whether that is nurturing ourselves or uplifting others.
