Engage: Global Mission Gathering will be held on the theme “United in Mission” on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (Eastern time) at Lancaster (Pa.) Church of the Brethren. This will be an evening celebrating the Global Church of the Brethren Communion. Hear firsthand from Brethren leaders and partners connected with the church in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Nigeria, and explore what it means to be united in mission.
Eric Ramirez, Country Advisory Team member for the Dominican Republic, and Rebecca Dali, co-pastor of Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel, Iowa, and founder of CCEPI (the Center for Caring, Empowerment, and Peace Initiative) in Nigeria, are featured speakers.
In a recent change, Roger Padilla, director of international relations for ASIGLEH (the Church of the Brethren in Venezuela), will be speaking in place of formerly announced Joel Peña.
Materials available for congregations
Several resources and downloadable materials are available for congregations, districts, and individuals to spread the word about the Engage gathering. The toolkit of materials includes an Engage bulletin insert, a digital slide announcement, and a sheet of ready-to-use newsletter articles, announcements, and social media posts. The toolkit is posted online
