How to Lead When You Don’t Know Where You’re Going: Leading in a Liminal Season by Susan Beaumont is the book chosen for an upcoming online book discussion sponsored by the Church of the Brethren Ministry Office and the Part-Time Pastor; Full-Time Church program.
“Liminality is defined as the transitional phase between two different states—the threshold between what was and what is coming,” said an announcement. “Many congregational leaders recognize that they are in that transitional place. The church they were trained to lead is receding in the rear-view, and what is emerging isn’t fully known or understood yet. Author and consultant Susan Beaumont offers practical and inspirational guidance for leaders living in the threshold between past and future.”
“Circuit rider” John Fillmore will facilitate the seven-week discussion on Beaumont’s book beginning on Feb. 3. Sessions will be held weekly on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. (Eastern time) and participants may request continuing education credit through the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership for a $10 fee.
