— The National Youth Cabinet of the Church of the Brethren met this past weekend, March 21-23, to discern the themes for National Youth Sunday 2025 and National Youth Conference 2026. With leadership from Becky Ullom Naugle, director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, cabinet members represented a number of church districts including Atlantic Northeast, Atlantic Southeast, Western Plains, Shenandoah, Virlina, Northern Indiana, Mid-Atlantic, Southern Ohio and Kentucky, and Northern Ohio. More information about the group and their meeting will appear soon, and worship resources will be forthcoming in advance of May 4, which is the suggested date for National Youth Sunday. “But your congregation can celebrate the leadership gifts of your youth anytime!” Find out more at www.brethren.org/yya

— Also from the Youth and Young Adult Ministry comes this invitation in preparation for love feast during Holy Week: “Looking for a hands-on lesson with a splash of theology and a dash of Brethren history? Make communion bread! In a 4 minute video, then pastor Katie Heishman demonstrates a recipe from the New Inglenook Cookbook from Brethren Press. Could your [youth or young adult] crew volunteer to make communion bread for the next time the congregation celebrates communion? If there is a group at your church who ‘always’ makes communion bread–ask if you can join them and make it an intergenerational activity!” Find the video originally posted by Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren on the congregation’s YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@princeofpeacechurchofthebr7560 or go directly to www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHmbss1PKt0

— Jennifer Hosler, manager of the Global Food Initiative for the Church of the Brethren, has been named one of the “12 Christian Women Shaping the Church in 2025” by Sojourners. “For the ninth year in a row, Sojourners honors Women’s History Month with an article highlighting revolutionary women shaping the church,” said the article. “This year’s list includes theologians, filmmakers, illustrators, musicians, pastors, and academics. Our nominees engage in diverse work, but these women are united through a fearless pursuit of justice. They lead through empathy. They build community. They fight against rising tides of hopelessness in our world with messages of radical and inclusive love. ” Each woman was asked “to share why their work is so important at this time and to offer us a blessing for 2025. May their bravery, kindness, and devotion inspire you along your own faith journey.” Go to https://sojo.net/articles/12-christian-women-shaping-church-2025
