Six people were killed and a church of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), as well as houses and other properties were burnt at Zah community under the district of Garkida, Gombi Local Government area, Adamawa State, in northeast Nigeria.
Briefing the media on the development, at the EYN Headquarters in Kwarhi, the EYN general secretary Daniel Y. C. Mbaya said from the report received as of the time of this press release, six people were killed, an EYN church, and four houses–including pastors’ houses–were destroyed by Boko Haram/ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province). The attackers came around 7 a.m. local time and caused havoc in the farming community.
The district church secretary, Yohanna Apagu, while confirming the attack said he is yet to receive details from the affected pastor and provided sketchy information.

Please pray… For the loved ones of those killed in the attack on Zah, for the EYN church community there, for the pastors and their families and others who lost homes and properties, and for the EYN leadership as they work to aid a community in distress.
