God who spoke the light into being,
Who breathed your spirit into us like a flame,
Who walked with us in the person of Jesus,
And continues to guide and sustain us in darkness, in light, on the mountain, and in the valley,
Draw near to us in ways that we can sense and recognize.
May the sparks of commitment made tonight be tended to with care and intentionality – both in our communities of faith and within our own burning hearts – enabling us to shine light, reflect Christ’s heart and embrace the spirit.
Thank you God, for your faithfulness this week – and all weeks. Thank you for choosing us.
So that with your word blazing in our hearts and your love alight on our lips we can shine….not just here, but in our homes and schools and communities and churches…even to the ends of the earth.
Lead us on God of Creation
Jesus the Light
Wind of flame
Amen.
