Nathan Hosler

Nathan Hosler is the director of the Church of the Brethren’s Office of Peacebuilding and Policy in Washington DC. As he has been involved in peace building and advocacy work for more than 12 years, his portfolio ranges from U.S. foreign and defense policy including U.S. – Nigeria policy, issues related to the Middle East conflict and the Asia Pacific over to immigration policy and farm worker justice. He sits on the boards of Churches for Middle East Peace, the National Council of Churches, the National Farm Worker Ministry, Heifer International and Creation Justice Ministries.

As part of his advocacy efforts, he is also the co-founder of the Interfaith Working Group on Drone Warfare, the Nigeria Working Group and the WISC Working Group on Asia Policy.

Additionally, he pastors at the Washington City Church of the Brethren and holds an MA in International Relations and a PhD in Theological Studies working in Theological Ethics.

Nate likes to run long distances, bike commute in DC, cook and try foods from around the world, and create and/or collect art.

Cornelius Raff

Cornelius serves as a volunteer worker through the Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) and their German partner program, EIRENE. Based in Washington, DC, he advocates and serves as witness to the peace and policymaking process with specific focus on issues of immigration policy and restoring the denomination’s creation care engagement. Cornelius is part of the Interfaith Immigration Coalition, the WISC Energy and Ecology Working Group and the International Climate Finance Group to jointly collaborate with faith advocates and policy experts on advocating for related issues.

When not at work he likes to lock himself away in music studios with his friends – he is still aspiring to make it big one day.

Mary Abraham

Mary Abraham is a seasoned organizational strategist with expertise in higher education and multinational business. Prior to her current role, she served as a Program Director at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) in Washington, DC. In the Kansas City area, Mary addressed social justice and racial equity issues in higher education for urban high school graduates. She is dedicated to improving higher education access for all disadvantaged populations, including active duty service members.

With 15 years of experience in corporate strategy development for Fortune 1000 companies, Mary has worked on international joint venture projects and led cross-functional teams comprising individuals from 60 different countries. Originally from India, she moved to the United States to pursue higher education. Raised in the Mar Thoma Church of Kerala, India, she later joined the Church of the Brethren (COB) in the United States. Mary is married to Rev. Abraham Omman, a COB minister (emeritus).

Mary earned a PhD in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis on Organizational Sociology and Globalization Studies from the University of Kansas at Lawrence. She also holds a Master’s in Religious Education from the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, and an MBA from Baker University in Overland Park, Kansas.

Souleymane Diori

Souleymane Abdoulaye Diori joined the Office of Peacebuilding and Policy in Washington D.C as an TITLE Associate on July 23, 2024. Souleymane graduated from George Mason University Carter School with a Master of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. He also graduated with a BA in Public Administration and International Studies from the University of Central Arkansas. Souleymane is Originally from Niamey, Niger.

Hannah Nelson

Hannah Nelson is a new BVS volunteer serving as an associate at the Office of Peacebuilding and Policy in Washington, D.C. She is from Southern California and grew up attending the La Verne Church of the Brethren. Hannah recently graduated with a BA in politics from the University of San Francisco, during which she held internships with a small domestic violence nonprofit and the San Francisco Department of Elections. At USF, Hannah was also involved with a student theater group, choir, and a voter registration organization. In her free time, she enjoys reading and creative writing. Hannah is excited to work with OPP to advocate for the Church of the Brethren’s peace stance at the national policy level.
