This month, the Standing with People of Color Committee of the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference is offering two opportunities for facilitator training for those interested in leading a “7 Prompts” conversation in their communities and congregations.
The committee is asking the entire Church of the Brethren to engage in crucial Christian conversations in various settings in the next year, using seven discussion prompts around the theme of standing with people of color and working for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The committee team developed the prompts, along with the “BELOVED” model of conversation, to help the church engage in urgent and heartfelt conversation in a way that builds up “Beloved Community.”

Trainings are offered as online events on Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. (Eastern time), register at www.onearthpeace.org/2024_10_26_swpoc_7_prompts_facilitator_training; and Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. (Eastern time), register at www.onearthpeace.org/2024_10_28_swpoc_7_prompts_facilitator_training. Registration for each event closes 24 hours before the workshop starts.
