A special meeting of the Standing Committee of district representatives to the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference will take place on Monday evening, April 13, at 8 p.m. (Eastern time). The meeting will center around Eder Financial’s agency status with Annual Conference and a proposed interim memo of understanding (MOU) between Standing Committee and Everence.
In early February, Eder Financial signed a letter of intent with Everence, the financial stewardship ministry of the Mennonite Church USA and other Anabaptist denominations, to determine how the two organizations might work together to fulfill Eder’s long-term mandate of serving pastors, employees, and denominational organizations in the Church of the Brethren.
Representatives of the Eder board and staff met with the Church of the Brethren Leadership Team about possible next steps, and those conversations led to the calling of this special meeting of Standing Committee.
The Standing Committee meeting will be public. The following link is available for anyone interested in observing the meeting: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89404734067
