A release from Eder Financial
Church of the Brethren congregations and organizations that have used Eder Financial’s organizational investing and retirement services need to work to transfer those accounts to Everence as soon as possible, if they haven’t done so already.
Eder will no longer process organizational investing transactions for clients after Oct. 30, 2026, except for liquidations. Organizations that have employees enrolled in the Eder Retirement Plan need to sign an adoption agreement with Mennonite Retirement Trust and begin making employee contributions to that plan by Dec. 1, 2026, or on Jan. 1, 2027. Eder will not process retirement contributions after Dec. 31, 2026.
“The processes to transfer organizational investing and retirement accounts from Eder to Everence includes providing a lot of information and filling out forms,” said Nevin Dulabaum, Eder president.
“Organizations should not wait until the deadlines to submit their paperwork because setting up accounts on the Everence system will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Dulabaum gave an update on the transition process of Eder’s organizational investing and retirement products to Everence on Sunday to the Church of the Brethren Mission and Ministry Board. He serves on the board as an ex officio member. He said that as of Oct. 23, 57 organizations will have transferred their assets to Everence. That means there are about 130 organizations that either are in the process of making the transition, have decided to move their funds elsewhere, or have not started the transfer process.
As of Oct. 9, 176 out of 299 organizations have signed Mennonite Retirement Trust (MRT) adoption agreements, with 65 additional organizations working to complete their paperwork. That means there are about 60 organizations that either are in the process of making the transition, have decided to move their funds elsewhere, or have not started the transfer process.
Each Eder member of organizational investing and the retirement plan should have received multiple letters over the past months instructing them how to engage in the transition.
