Michael Scalzi will retire on Dec. 31 as program assistant for Children’s Disaster Services (CDS), a Church of the Brethren program in Brethren Disaster Ministries based at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Md.
Scalzi has worked with CDS for three years, since Nov. 9, 2022. He has made significant contributions to the CDS program, specifically his work connecting with volunteers and diligently maintaining accurate volunteer and program information. His consistently positive attitude and willingness to pitch in were deeply valued.
Previously he had retired from Carroll County (Md.) Public Schools as a school counselor and behavior intervention specialist. He is a member of Westminster (Md.) Church of the Brethren.
