The Pastoral Compensation and Benefits Advisory Committee has sent an email to all the pastors in the Church of the Brethren in appreciation for their service. The communication was sent at the start of October as Pastor Appreciation Month. Each member of the committee is writing a prayer each week of October, that will follow up on this first email written by committee chair Bob McMinn:
Members of the Pastoral Compensation and Benefits Advisory Committee take pleasure in underscoring the opportunity provided by Pastor Appreciation Month to express gratitude for the vital role Pastors play in our congregations.

Although it is always the right time to express appreciation, October has for many years been designated as Pastor Appreciation month. We want to use this opportunity to express our appreciation for the important work you do. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, especially during October.
Knowing the incredible impact that pastors have on the lives and spiritual journeys of those they shepherd, I offer these words of thanksgiving for you as you serve faithfully this week.
For the truly precious gift of talented, educated and committed pastoral leadership,
For the choice you have made to dedicate yourself to ministry service,
For the teaching you provide in each aspect of your ministry,
For the spiritual role you play in weddings, births, and other life celebrations, and
For the reminder of God’s promises that you provide when life is difficult.
I offer my sincere gratitude and appreciation for these blessings!
Thoughts shared with you from Bob McMinn, chair of the Pastoral Compensation and Benefits Advisory Committee of the Annual Conference, in gratitude for your service.
