Melissa Fritz on July 8 concluded her work as a packer with the Material Resources program of the Church of the Brethren. The program is located at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Md.
This layoff is due to the upcoming closure of the Material Resources program at the end of 2025, and the reduced number of quilt donations that there are to process as program partners transition to new warehouses. (Read about the Mission and Ministry Board’s decision to close Material Resources in the Newsline article of Oct. 23, 2023, at www.brethren.org/news/2023/board-decides-to-close-material-resources.)
Fritz has been employed with Material Resources for almost eight years, since Oct. 2, 2017.
