A tiny retreat is a chance to take a break from the day and, just for a moment, lay down all you are carrying. Retreat to a sacred space of beauty, scripture, and meditation. Be blessed.

“For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you,
that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread,
and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said,
‘This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’”

Activity

In the traditional Brethren communion service, which is a central part of the love feast usually held on Thursday night before Easter Sunday, participants break home-made unleavened bread after sharing a meal in memory of the last supper Jesus ate with his disciples.

If you have bread or a tortilla or crackers or another baked good at home, this evening break off a small piece and eat it. As you savor the taste, remember Jesus’ life and ministry.
