“The honor of being a selected recipient of the Church of the Brethren Health Care Education Scholarship is humbling and inspirational. This scholarship has allowed me to attend the first of many professional conferences, which further inspired my journey in global healthcare. As an aspiring healthcare professional, this award serves as another layer of inspiration in my journey to ultimately be able to serve the community that has invested in me. The scholarship has not only helped to decrease financial stress that comes along with such a career, but it also has deepened my faith in the congregation that I call family. The COFB has proven in a multitude of ways how they truly and genuinely believe in the growth of the community, spiritually, emotionally and personally. It is truly a rewarding feeling to know that my childhood dreams to become pediatric healthcare professionals are supported by the Church of the Brethren.”

“Thank you for selecting me as the recipient of this scholarship. It is a blessing to have the remainder of my tuition paid for. With this scholarship, I am able to spend more time focusing on school than worrying about having to work additional hours to pay the remaining tuition balance. The ultimate goal for my career is to serve God by serving His people. I have felt throughout my nursing school journey, this is what I am supposed to do. It has helped me through difficult semesters and shown me areas that I need to improve on. My short-term goal after graduation would be to work in the ER or NICU/ PEDS for a few years. Once I get more experience as a nurse, I would like to work in outpatient surgery or Pre-op/PACU. I currently work as a Nurse Intern at Covenant Hospital, and I have been able to practice my skills to be ready for my next role as a Registered Nurse. God has a plan and I want to follow His guiding for my career to ultimately bring Him glory.”
Thank you again for this scholarship,

“I hope to be a light to those who either do not know Christ or are lost and cannot find their way in my workplace. Jesus was a healer and a friend, I plan on showing Jesus’s love for us to my patients and their families through careful assessments, procedures, and showing them that they are truly cared for.”
