\"\"The deadline is drawing near for nominations for the 2014 Open Roof Awards, presented annually to a congregation or district in the Church of the Brethren that has made great strides in becoming accessible to people with disabilities and offering opportunities for them to serve.<\/p>\n

The scripture theme for the Open Roof Awards comes from Mark 2:3-4: \u201cThen some people came, bringing to Jesus a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. And when they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you know of a Church of the Brethren congregation or district that has done something extraordinary to serve–or be served by–those with disabilities?\u201d asks the call for nominations from Donna Kline, director of Deacon Ministries. \u201cTell us about it, even if it\u2019s your own!\u201d<\/p>\n
