The conference is sponsored by the Church of the Brethren Congregational Life Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>The conference theme is \u201cThe Risk and Reward of Embodying Jesus Locally,\u201d with the conference\u00a0 text from John 1:14a.<\/p>\n<p>Christiana Rice is an on-the-ground practitioner and visionary voice in the missional movement, serving as a coach and trainer with Thresholds ( thresholdscommunity.org ), a community that helps people create spaces of discovery and communities of transformation. She seeks to participate in God\u2019s restorative mission, leading a neighborhood faith community in San Diego, Calif. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan, a daughter of missionaries to that country.
