The fall orientation was held at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Md.<\/p>\n<p>Following are the new volunteers, their home congregations or home towns, and the projects where they will serve through BVS:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rebekka Adelberger<\/strong> of Velbert, Germany, will serve with Sisters of the Road in Portland, Ore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frederik Blum<\/strong> of Blaustein, Germany; <strong>Nicole Sprenger<\/strong> of Altenmedingen, Germany; and <strong>Nils Kohm<\/strong> of Wiesloch, Germany, all are going to Project PLASE in Baltimore, Md.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adam Braun<\/strong> of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren in Decatur, Ind., will work with Brethren Disaster Ministries in New Windsor, Md.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Button-Harrison<\/strong> of Ames, Iowa, will serve at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Cummings<\/strong> of Summit Church of the Brethren in Bridgewater, Va., and <strong>Tricia Ziegler<\/strong> ofSebring (Fla.) Church of the Brethren, are working with the Workcamp Ministry at the Church of the Brethren General Offices in Elgin, Ill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dennis Droll<\/strong> of Buehl, Germany, and <strong>Michelle Geus<\/strong> of Leverkusen, Germany, are serving at the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Cincinnati, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bryan Hanger<\/strong> of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, Va., is an intern at the Church of the Brethren\u2019s Advocacy and Peace Witness office in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe Hockley<\/strong>, of Elizabethtown (Pa.) Church of the Brethren, will work at Cincinnati (Ohio) Church of the Brethren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jan Hunsaenger<\/strong> of Kamp-Bornhofen, Germany, will serve with Human Solutions in Portland, Ore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rebecca Jolliff<\/strong> of Newberg, Ore., is going to the Center on Conscience and War in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Monroe<\/strong> of University Park Church of the Brethren in Hyattsville, Md., will go to the L\u2019Arche community in Belfast, Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rayce Reynoldson<\/strong> of Antelope Park Church of the Brethren in Lincoln, Neb., is serving at Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kayla Robbins<\/strong> of Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren in Dillsburg, Pa., will work for the National Campaign for a Peace Tax Fund in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jocelyn Snyder<\/strong> of Hartville (Ohio) Church of the Brethren will be serving with the African Inland Church Secondary School of Torit, South Sudan, in a seconded position with the Church of the Brethren Global Mission and Service program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kirsten Stopher<\/strong> of Archbold, Ohio, will work at Abb\u00e9 Pierre Emma\u00fcs Center in Esteville, France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophie Thomas<\/strong> of Westminster, Md., is going to the New Community Project in Harrisonburg, Va.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Zelder<\/strong> of Braunschweig, Germany, will work with Abode Services in Fremont, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>Four of the new BVS volunteers&#8211;<strong>Lena Deutschkaemer<\/strong> of Unterkirnach, Germany; <strong>Elena Hodapp<\/strong> of Sasbach, Germany;<strong> Merle Koester<\/strong> of Koenigslutter, Germany; and <strong>Krista Mauger<\/strong> of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren in Quarryville, Pa.&#8211;are all going to work at the Family Abuse Center in Waco, Texas.<\/p>\n<p><em>For more about Brethren Volunteer Service go to <a href=\"..\/..\/..\/preview!www.brethren.org\/bvs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.brethren.org\/bvs<\/a> .<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) Unit 299 completed orientation on Sept. 16-Oct. 5.
