Dr. John Fillmore as director of ministry, effective Nov. 2, 2026. As part of the denomination&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/dlf\/\">Discipleship and Leadership Formation<\/a> team, he will lead the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/ministryoffice\/\">Ministry Office<\/a>, equipping ministers, supporting congregations and districts, and strengthening pastoral leadership across the denomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fillmore has served as pastor of <a href=\"https:\/\/cobnampa.churchtrac.com\/\">Nampa (Idaho) Church of the Brethren<\/a> since 2011. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2024\/fillmore-to-lead-idaho-district\/\">serves as district executive for the Idaho and Western Montana District Church of the Brethren<\/a> and as a circuit rider for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/ministryoffice\/part-time-pastor\/\">Part-Time Pastor; Full-Time Church<\/a> program, supporting congregations and pastoral leaders across the denomination. Beginning Nov. 2, he will devote his ministry full time to the Church of the Brethren&#8217;s Ministry Office, working remotely from his home in Nampa, Idaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fillmore earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from <a href=\"https:\/\/nnu.edu\/\">Northwest Nazarene University<\/a> (Nampa, Idaho), a Master of Divinity from <a href=\"https:\/\/bethanyseminary.edu\/\">Bethany Theological Seminary<\/a>, and a Doctor of Ministry from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/seminary\/index.html\">Portland (Ore.) Seminary at George Fox University<\/a>. In addition to his congregational and district leadership, he has led numerous denomination-wide Zoom book studies, served on committees of the Council of District Executives, and held a variety of leadership roles within the Idaho and Western Montana District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fillmore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2026\/nancy-sollenberger-heishman-to-retire\/\">succeeds Nancy Sollenberger Heishman<\/a>, who retired in July after nearly nine years of service as director of the Ministry Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Church of the Brethren has named Rev.
