Carlisle (Pa.) First Church of the Brethren, which is located in Cumberland County, recently hosted an event connected with the faith-based movement to end gun violence called \u201cHeeding God\u2019s Call.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church hosted a Cumberland County Memorial to the Lost on its lawn from May 17-31, and held a dedication service. The memorial displayed t-shirts with the names of people who have been lost to gun violence and those who have died in shootings. A large sign posted on the church lawn with the installation noted that it was dedicated to \u201cHonoring the 24 Cumberland residents taken by gun murder in Cumberland County 2015-2023.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers anticipate a follow-up installation of a Cumberland County Memorial to the Lost this fall on the campus of Dickinson College in Carlisle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
