Tod Bolsinger, author of Canoeing the Mountains<\/em>, Tempered Resilience<\/em>, and How Not to Waste a Crisis<\/em>, will be the keynote speaker for the next Church of the Brethren L.E.A.D. (Listen \u2013 Equip \u2013 Adapt \u2013 Disciple) Conference. The conference is scheduled for May 1-3, 2026, at Ephrata (Pa.) Church of the Brethren, sponsored by Discipleship and Leadership Formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between now and then, the planning team is offering a series of quarterly webinars, called the \u201cThird Thursday Webinars.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of these webinars is to keep offering opportunities for church board members, pastors, deacons, Sunday school teachers, and other congregational leaders to grow in their leadership abilities. Organizers believe that strengthening congregations will, in time, strengthen district and denominational leadership from the grassroots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one-hour webinars, from 7-8 p.m. Eastern time, are free of charge and will provide continuing education units for credentialed ministers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The first webinar on Thursday, June 19, 7-8 p.m. (Eastern time)<\/strong> will be led by speaker and author Dennis Edwards<\/strong> from North Park Theological Seminary on the topic \u201cHumble Leadership.\u201d Edwards spoke on this topic when he was keynote presenter for the L.E.A.D. Conference last fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Oct. 16, Paul Mundey<\/strong>, a minister, consultant, and writer, and former moderator of the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference, will present on \u201cThe Pastor as Outfitter: Equipping Disciples for the Adventure of Mission.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, Jeremy Ashworth<\/strong>, pastor of Circle of Peace Church of the Brethren in Arizona for more than 10 years, will speak on \u201cAdaptability in Leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Lidia Gonzalez<\/strong>, a church planter since the young age of 17 and a pastor in the Church of the Brethren currently serving on a pastoral team with her husband, Raul Gonzalez, for El Buen Pastor congregation in Virlina District, will share about \u201cDiscipling Leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
