More than 65,000 people are living in shelters because their homes have been destroyed or severely flooded, with utensils and furniture unfit for the future. More than 160 people died. Many companies stopped their activities because the premises were flooded. The damages, it is estimated, exceed $10 billion. There are cities where two-thirds are flooded. The cities’ airports flooded, and planes were out of operation, making it difficult to send aid. Access roads were also destroyed.

“Brazil floods leave trail of unprecedented devastation” from the Voice of America on YouTube

“The Brazilian Center for Pastoral Studies (CEBEP) has immediately established a commission to develop a comprehensive relief program. This program includes training pastors and community leaders to assist in the grieving process for those who have lost family members. Pastor Marcos Inhauser, with his extensive experience in disaster response, has been invited to lead this initiative. His book on Pastoral Care of Consolation, which he has translated and shared with the GCBC group, will be a valuable resource for this pastoral training.

“It is crucial that we unite in prayer for the flood-affected region and for the work of Pastor Marcos and his team.
