David Banaszak has announced the conclusion of his service as executive minister for the Church of the Brethren\u2019s Middle Pennsylvania District, a position he has held for the past six-and-a-half years since Sept. 5, 2017. He plans to conclude his ministry for the district on July 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his years as a member of the Council of District Executives, he was on the Ministry Issues Committee. Prior to serving as executive minister, he served in the district as chair of the Ministry Commission, directed Ministry Formation, and was a Standing Committee representative. He previously pastored Clover Creek Church of the Brethren in Middle Pennsylvania District for 25 years, and also pastored the Mt. Olivet congregation in Shenandoah District for nearly 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banaszak worked as a consulting geologist for Carbon Coal Company in Gallup, N.M., and for Kimball Engineering Services in Ebensburg, Pa., before entering the ministry. He holds a degree in Earth Sciences and Geology from Penn State, attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary, and received a master of divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the Clover Creek congregation in 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
