The Global Church of the Brethren Communion held meetings by Zoom in late November and early December last year. \u201cSignificant things happened,\u201d reported Eric Miller, executive director of Global Mission for the Church of the Brethren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The communion held a \u201cConstitutive Assembly\u201d in which the group formally organized. In addition, it approved Honduras Church of the Brethren as a founding member \u201cdue to their faithful participation in meetings leading to this date,\u201d Miller said. This action \u201cmeans there is a new member\u201d of the Global Church of the Brethren Communion and lists and maps need to be updated accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organization also elected its board and officers, as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n — Moderator:<\/em> Joel S. Billi <\/strong>of Ekklesiyar Yan\u2019uwa a Nigeria (EYN, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria)<\/p>\n\n\n\n — Vice-moderator: <\/em>Darryl Sankey<\/strong> of First District Church of the Brethren in India<\/p>\n\n\n\n — Treasurer:<\/em> Eric Miller<\/strong> of the Church of the Brethren in the United States<\/p>\n\n\n\n — Secretary: <\/em>Alexandre Gon\u00e7alves<\/strong> of Igreja da Irmandade (Church of the Brethren in Brazil)<\/p>\n\n\n\n — Board members:<\/em> Oswaldo Lezama<\/strong> of ASIGLEH (Church of the Brethren in Venezuela); Etienne Nsanzimana<\/strong> of the Church of the Brethren in Rwanda<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Global Church of the Brethren Communion is a fellowship of Church of the Brethren denominations or national bodies.
